Full-time Tenure Track Position

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literature at National Tsing Hua University is inviting applications for tenure-track positions at the rank of assistant professor or higher in the following areas of specialization: Linguistics or Applied Linguistics. 

Starting Date: August 1, 2017

National Tsing Hua University is a research-focused institution located on a spacious wooded campus one hour outside of Taipei. We welcome applicants with a PhD in linguistics or applied linguistics who can bring intellectual flexibility and a commitment to research productivity. Major responsibilities for these positions include teaching in the applicant’s areas of specialization; teaching language skills courses; supervising graduate students; and pursuing an active research program. The salary of the successful candidate will be based on rank and experience, and will also include generous starting funds, a housing allowance, health insurance, and an annual bonus.

Applications should include (1) curriculum vitae; (2) at least two letters of recommendation, emphasizing research achievements and/or potential; (3) proof of previous academic employment (if applicable); (4) photocopy of Ph.D. diploma; (5) list of publications; (6) copies of publications within the past 5 years; (7) sample course outlines and list of courses you can offer; (8) other relevant supporting materials such as transcripts, and, if applicable, evidence of effective teaching.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed and invited to give a talk.
