講題:Simultaneous language acquisition and object realization in English and Cantonese

How do children simultaneously exposed to English and Cantonese from birth develop bilingual competence in both languages in the first few years of life? Using corpus and experimental data from Cantonese–English bilingual children, we show cross-linguistic influence in the object realization in their target languages. Video clips will be shown to illustrate the non-target forms produced by the children. We discuss the factors shaping bilingual developing including language dominance and properties of dual input.
