The 2015 LST General Assembly will be held at National Taiwan Normal University on Nov. 21st, 2015. All members are sincerely welcome.
In addition to the general business meeting, the assembly will feature two keynote speakers, Joan Maling (Professor Emerita of Linguistics, Brandeis University; Former President of Linguistic Society of America) and Takuo Hayashi (Professor, Momoyama Gakuin University; President of The Pragmatics Society of Japan), who will join invited scholars from Taiwan for the discussions of‘Current Trends in Linguistic Research and Future Goals’ as well as ‘Difficulties and Solutions for The Linguistic Studies in Taiwan’. The visit of Professor Hayashi will mark the first step toward more future exchanges between the Pragmatic Society of Japan and the LST.
Moreover, the general assembly will also include the awards ceremony for 2015’s lifetime achievement award and the best thesis and dissertation of the year. Last but not least, it is also time for us to vote for our new executive members, who we will crucially depend on for a prosperous future.
