Position in English Literature

Applications are invited for the following position in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature (FLLD) at Tunghai University, Taichung, Taiwan.

Assistant Professor or above in English Literature. The position is effective as early as 1 August 2026. Applicants should have native or near-native competence of English and a PhD in English Literature. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Drama, Film, Cultural Studies, or Interdisciplinary Research. Applicants and the chosen candidate need to have scholarly publication and experience in conducting research projects.

Teaching load will consist of minimum nine hours per semester and, in addition to courses in the candidate’s specialization, will include composition, oral training, and other required courses. A commitment to assisting the University’s bilingual development and internationalization is essential. Evidence of scholarship/research is required. Applicants are expected to have published research articles within the past three years in established journals.
